This article is years old, by I have never heard of it until now. An FDA approved, naturally occurring substance has been made or extracted in labs. It's called AMP (Adenosine monophosphate). Similar to the miracle fruit, it blocks bitterness making food more enjoyable. Although I think MF trumps it by turning sour to sweet, (and being natural and time tested), it is still interesting to see where this could go. But I wonder, what happened in the last few years that prevented this from taking off? Can anyone find more info on this?

It will make your sour fruits taste like Splenda ;-) 

Man, I tried some of that stuff today (coffe flavored).  It was so disgusting, i don't know how people eat that.

Isn't that essentially aspartame? Miracle fruit affects your taste buds, not what you ingest. this looks to do the opposite.

Yeah, I think miracle fruit is pretty different to this.  And anyway, it's a lot more fun too.
