Environment and Shopping Woes

1. Shipping
I ordered a plant on Ebay from Thailand. From both my research and the seller, I was reassured that there are no problems shipping this to the US (California). Does anyone know of any issues with this? How long it usually takes?
2. Environment
I live in Southern California, so of course there is the hot and dry climate. But, I live in the local mountains. The temperature can get down to the teens and I also experience snow (A few inches to a foot). I plan on keeping it indoors for the winter. Anyhow, humidity can get up to 100% at times (a rare occasion), but is usually around 20-30%. I was wondering if a thermoplanter would be a good option, improving it enough to be worth the purchase. I also have mild summers 90 is the usual high (its on average around 80), but nights can still drop down to the high 50's. Should I keep the plant inside during this time too?
Thanks,
-Andrew

I lived in SoCal when I started with mine. The sun will bake it if it is midday and direct. you will need a shade cloth. The thermoplanter is a great thing, though I am not sure it will help sub freezing, Mark will tell you for sure. At that point I think you will need to keep it inside. Regardless of the temp outside or inside, having a bag over it at all times is a good idea. I used to get very jealous of people that lived in the mountains, which town are you in? I always thought Monrovia, tucked back would have been nice.

I live near the town of Idyllwild (about a 2 hour drive from LA). When it is humid, its cold, so I will keep it indoors and in a bag as you suggested. I just hope I get this thing in the first place.
Edit: I just got a foot of snow this past week

While I got my plant. I must say, it came quicker than expected. I will post a grow log soon once I get this thing set up.

I ordered my plant on the 9th and it was shipped on the 14th. I received my plant on the 24th (10 days). Customs opened the box and took a look at it and moved it along. This is with Standard Flat Rate Shipping Service. If you do order one from outside of your country, be sure it has a Phytosanitary Certificate.
